Lexo’s Community Garden, 2026

I was asked to design a mural for the courtyard at The Hub @ Lexo, a community services hub a part of Randwick Council. The mural had to be created in consultation with the local community with opportunities for them to participate in the painting.

As a result I came up with a community garden theme to connect to the newly revamped gardens and courtyard area. With a focus on celebrating local natives flora, gathering & shared spaces.

During the design stages I hosted a series of drop-in workshops where the community could vote for the type of flora they want to see featured in the mural. They could share stories of special moments they have spent in the garden. Or draw pictures that could used as inspiration.

We had over 60 people participate in the project. With the design features Old Man Banksia, Golden Wattle, Red Flowering Gum, Pink Wax Flower & the Lilly Pilly. As well as a sunflower, dandelion, bees, butterflies and other bugs.

I hosting 2 painting workshops where the community could help paint, learn new skills and connect.
