The Campbelltown Art Centre and Campbelltown Council wanted me to come up with a kids school holiday workshop that would focus around Koala’s, as there is a big population in the Campbelltown area. The workshop was to result in the creation of art pieces that would be installed on Queens St, Campbelltown.
The project aimed to:
Increase awareness around Campbelltown’s Koala population.
Give opportunity for the community to meet and work with an artist.
Allow people to contribute to artworks that can feature around Campbelltown in future.
The workshop involved kids painting large cardboard koala’s as well as drawing their own koala on two street libraries.
The workshop had 94 kids register, with 71 attending on the day.
