About the animation
Lean In, 2025
Animation collaboration with Alice Peacock
PHIVE, Parramatta
Alice & myself were commissioned by the City of Parramatta & PHIVE to create an animation that would play on the digital screen in the foyer of the PHIVE building.
The animation was to be 30mins in total. But it would be programmed to play in randomised short bite size segments throughout the screens daily content.
The aim of the project was to create an artwork that adds to the welcoming environment for the space & connect with the PHIVE community.
As a result we created Lean In.
Lean In gives the audience permission to explore their child-like curiosities and imaginary worlds just beyond our own. The unexpected comes to life through a series of short animations where characters seek moments of wonder, act on their playful curiosities, and play for the sake of play. With locations and visual motifs inspired by PHIVE’s architecture and the biodiversity of Parramatta River.
