SCULPTURE / QVB ROOSTER - CHINESE NEW YEAR / QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING / SYDNEY / 2017
The QVB Rooster was created in collaboration with Art Pharmacy, Maker Maker Creative and Reso & Co. for Chinese New Year. The projects aim was to create a high impact installation that would make a great Instagram moment for the QVB customer.
The rooster stood over 4 metres tall with the largest tail feather measuring 5 metres in length. I was responsible for the creation of the head, crest, wattle and tail. The head was made from hand cut paper feathers that were individually glued to the steel frame and the wattle from paper Hung Boa (traditional money pockets). The tail feathers was also paper with a steel spine that helps hold their shape.
The #qvbrooster hashtag was used over 300 times during the campaign.
