IN TRANSIT: Random Acts of Kindness was an interactive art event for EDGE Newtown and Art Trails. It was a collaboration with Roomies Arts. Roomies Arts is committed to inclusion and access to the arts for people with disabilities.
The project was based around public transport and how it’s important for people to feel safe in these spaces. That a simple random act of kindness can make someone’s experience better. The idea was that people would come to the space and make a small paper/cardboard brooch and write a nice message on the back for someone. They would then go to our miniature world and exchange their brooch with a stranger using our pully system transport system.
My experience with workshops and installations meant I was able to create the program for the project. I facilitated the development process with the Roomies members over multiple weeks. I them helped with the construction, installation and running of the event.
